5 Important Qualities to consider when choosing your high school senior photographer
It is that time of year again.. Senior photo season. Each year I like to educate folks on specific qualities to look for when choosing your senior photographer.
BEFORE YOU EVEN LOOK AT PRICING!!!!
1) Check out their website, social media page(s) what does their work look like.. Ask yourself these questions... Do I like their style of photography? What drew me to their web page? How busy are they as a photographer? Can I see myself as one of their subjects that they capture?
2) If you are seeing what you are liking so far... Check out how detailed oriented that the photographer is...Do they pay attention to the smallest details? Such as messy hair on the shoulders, uneven tie strings on guys hoodies, wrinkling of clothing. Can you see daylight through the subjects hair. Did the photographer position their subject correctly so you can see both arms when photographing. Nothing worse then getting a great photo captured and it looks like an arm is missing.
3) Call the photographer that you are interested in... Get a feel for their personality. Will the photographer be a good fit for your senior and your family?What is their turnaround time for getting back to you for your inquire? Are they showing true interest in you and your senior? Are they excited when they hear from you regarding your interest? Can you hear it in their voice?
4) What are folks saying about their experience with the photographer. Check out their testimonials... the photographer will gladly give you access to touch base personally with the folks that have had a photography experience with them. Ask around the community what are folks saying? Word of mouth is the best testimonial of ones experience.
5) Ask the photographer questions... Do they offer products besides gift prints. Products such as albums, large wall art, canvases, metal and acrylic prints. Ask the quality of the printing lab that they use. Labs can very in quality. Cheaper isn't always what one desires in the final product....This quality is very evident in the printing.
